Membership in The United Methodist Church begins with the Sacrament of Baptism. Baptism symbolizes the initiative that God takes in bestowing upon us His grace and mercy and celebrates our complete dependence upon God. Through this sacrament, we accept God’s gift of grace and yield our lives to the leading of the Holy Spirit.

If you have not been baptized and are interested in becoming a member of Dover First, we would love to talk to you! If you have previously been baptized in another denomination of the Christian faith and desire to become a member at Dover First United Methodist Church, you can be received into membership after attending our Next Steps Class.
